As a spiritual medium I receive messages by mental medium-ship which is communication of spirits by telepathy. There are several different types. The medium can either mentally ‘hears’ (clair-audience), ‘see’ (clair-voyance), or ‘feels (clair-sentience) messages from spirits. Some mediums, like me, are even gifted with all these abilities. After receiving the message the medium can then proceed on to relay the information to the recipient, whom is known as the sitter. A medium can pass this information on directly or with the help of a spiritual guide.
A spirit guide is a highly evolved spirit with the sole purpose of helping the medium develop their skills and assist in a spiritual journey. They aid me through different forms of meditation and grounding.

When meditating I ask the spiritual guide to bring through spirits so I can understand and see message more clearly. This helps me improve my abilities. Also they can bring other spirits to my attention. When doing a reading a medium can reach an end point where information is difficult to obtain, this is where the spiritual guide comes in. The spiritual guide can call out the spirits necessary for the reading and allow to me to communicate with them more clearly.

As a platform medium I channel energy in a very different way as when I’m passing on messages through private readings. I must create energy early on to allow spirits to come through. This energy is received faster as I only have a couple of minutes to accurately receive and give the messages to the audience member. A platform medium will always be very active on the stage moving constantly to create a channel to spirit.

When I do private readings they are much longer.I receive the message in two ways first the spirit will come through for a loved one. They will recognize the spirit by name and relationship. Second the reading is guided by the spirit as to how the person is living in the now.

There is however a difference between a medium and a psychic. A psychic will tap into the vibrations of the sitter they are doing the reading for. A medium who is often psychic attunes not only to the vibrations of the sitter but also to those of spirit entities – that’s why it’s said that a medium can be psychic but a psychic is not always a medium.
